Can I Get Pregnant While On The Contraceptive Pills?

I am on the pill and I think I might be pregnant, but i wouldn't know for sure, should I keep taking the pill? I am scared that if I am pregnant it might harm the feotus! I will be starting my sugar pills after 2days time. your advice would be greatly appreciated..

Hello,

If you suspect pregnancy, you have to stop taking the medication and get a clarification. Sugar pills are not likely to show any adverse effect. Also, adverse effects on the embryo usually are seen if hormones are continued around 5-6 weeks of pregnancy since organogenesis is differentiated at this stage. Please get a pregnancy test through blood evaluation at the earliest and plan further management.
