Can I Use 0.1% Hydrocortisone Cream To Relieve Itching On Skin?
My 16 year old daughter has just finished a course of isotretinoin. She has very rogh skin on her fore arms which looks very scaly and is also itchy. i have lobate skin cream 0.1%hydrocortisone . do you think this will giver her relief from the itching? Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems that the fore arm skin of your daughter has lost lubrication leading to scaliness and itching.. The most common cause is that either she is not paying attention towards maintaining proper hygiene or there is also a possibility that she has having any allergic reaction.. I would however suggest you that you can very well apply Hydrocortisone cream as it is a steroid and will help in relieving itching.. She can also do cool compresses and apply thick coat of petroleum jelly over it to relieve dryness and scaliness and the skin will soften.. In case if still it does not improve or there are recurring episodes consult a Dermatologist and get her evaluated.. If allergies are ruled out anti-allerigics oral as well as topical can be advised..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
