Can I Wear Contact Lenses During Labour Pains And Delivery?

I am wearing contact lenses of -9 power in each eye since 6 years....I am not having any problem with them....presently I am 9 month pregnant and still wear those lenses....my question is can I wear these lenses during labour pain and delivery? I will not take new lenses as I know that after delievery my eye no.can fluctuate... so kindly help me ...

Hello
It seems from the history that you are wearing contact lenses of - 9 dioptre. You can continue to use them during pregnancy also no problem and if you want to change the glasses or lenses during pregnancy, it is not advisable because of eye power may vary in pregnancy as there will be retention of water in the layers of the eye causing increased thickness and varying refractive power.
Hence if you want to change the lenses wait till pregnancy is over.
