I've had implanon for over a year (second time on it). I started doing a new workout that involves building muscle in my arms as well as the rest of my body. Two questions.... Where the insertion was, my arm muscle is hurting pretty bad. Is that normal? Second, I haven't gotten periods while on implant but I got mine today for the first time. I started working out three days ago. Could it be the workout I'm doing that it's too strenuous? I've never had problems with implanon before that.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms can be related to the workout. The implanon itself does not cause arm pain after a year of insertion. The workout can also cause your periods to come while on the implanon. So,there in no need to be worried. I suggest to rest for some days.
