Can Infant Survive After Having Heart Surgery Immediately After Birth?
hello my name is noor, my friend is nearly 9months pregnant and she was told a week ago that her baby boys heart is placed upside down and has a very thin vein where when she gives birth he needs to be put to surgery. How is this going to work? is the baby going to be fine?

At 9 months of pregnancy there is not much one can do, except wait for the child to be born and be assessed clinically to decide the course of treatment.
Since the baby has a congenital heart defect, it is advisable to get the delivery conducted at an advanced center where facility of interventional pediatric cardiology is present.
