Can Intake Of Penicillin-VK 500mg Or Lisinopril 10mg Cause Shoulder Pain?
hi I am taking penicilln vk 500mg for a tooth infection 4 times a day is this a usual dosage. Im having muscle shoulder pain since I started Im also started on Lisinopril 10 for high blood pressure at the same time.I think this is a reaction frome one of these drugs;
Based on the history given you seem to have developed hyperkalemia (high blood potassium level) apparently caused by the BP lowering medication Lisinopril and causing shoulder pain.
Hyperkalemia is one of the common side effects of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors such as Lisinopril.
You may need to reduce the dose of Lisinopril or to take another safe and effective BP lowering medication that does not affect the potassium levels.
The oral penicillin VK is unlikely to cause hyperkalemia.
Hope this answer your query.
