Can Intake Of Ramipril And Levothyroxine Cause Severe Cough?

I am taking 5 mg of ramipril once a day for there years. Three months ago, I started taking levithyroxine . It seemed to raise my blood pressure, so I started taking the Ramipril twice a day..The last month I have had a severe cough. Could this be from one or both of the medications?

Thank you for asking on HCM

Ramipril is well-known for causing cough when it has been used for a long time. You should stop taking Ramipril right now. Levothyroxine doesn't cause dry cough, but yes it may raise your blood pressure.

Another class of antihypertensive drugs known as Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs) are frequently prescribed for patients who do not tolerate ACE inhibitors well due to chronic dry cough. I would prescribe for you Losartan potassium 50 mg half tablet twice daily.
