My TSH was 16+ and was put on a 50mcg Thronorm once a day. I have been feeling some sort of fear and withdraw from socliazing and feel tired. I have been taking this for more than an year. My recent blood test shows TSH 1.78 and free T4 1.14. Can i stop or reduce my medication? Please help and thanks. I am 87 years old.
The intake of Thyronorm is not associated with development of social phobia. However, as the level of TSH is 1.78 with the intake of medication, you can surely approach your doc for the discussion of reduction of the dose of the thyroid supplement. It is not advisable to withdraw the system totally from intake of Thyronorm as it will make issue of hypothyroidism to much great extent.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
