Can Intense Physical Exertion Lead To Dizziness, Soreness And Stiffness In Neck And, Loss Of Balance?

The after an intense weight lifting / circuit training season I woke up with dizziness and a stiff sore neck, unsteaday , unbalanced, especially when I move my neck quickly or look down or up. It has been 3 weeks now and symptoms are getting better but problem persists.

Hi,Dear.the weight lifting or any abrupt jerk can cause stiff and sore neck muscles and also dizziness because sometimes when we lift heavy weight it put strain on our backbone which runs from neck to back, due to this strain there is compression of some nerves which are responsible for hearing and maintaining balance of your body.So you can experience dizziness, loss of balance, vertigo, earache etc.The thing you are supposed to do is:
1.Do isometric exercise, stretching and movement exercises and chin tuck twice a day.
2.Use cervical support collar while driving, watching tv,playing, doing your office job.
3.Use a soft pillow below neck to support while sleeping.
4.Avoid lifting heavy weights.
