Can Jumping, Bending Cause Swelling On The Knee For Which ACL Replacement Surgery Was Done ?
My daughter has noticed a goose-egg shaped swelling on the outside of her knee . She had ACL replacement surgery three years ago, but has recently begun cheerleading practice in which she as to jump and bend pretty frequently. We are using ibuprofen , elevating, and icing, but the goose-egg is still there. What should we do?
You should see your Dr so that she can be examined physically and have an XR of her knee. If her symptoms are persistent then an MRI may be necessary to check on the integrity of the repaired ACL and to make sure that there are no other problems within the knee joint. In the meantime you are doing all of the right things.
