Can Lesion In Breast Cause High ESR Levels?

Hi doc, I am 56 years old house wife with 2 children. I did a lipid profile blood test as routine checkup. The result showed high level of ESR I.e 105. After consulting my doc, I was suggested for a lower body ultra sound , mammogram. Next day my mammogram showed a lesion of about 9.8 mm in my right breast. I was told it's cancerous , so has to be surgically removed through a Breast Conserving Surgery, which was performed day before yesterday. I am 68 kilos and 5' in height. I have shoulder pain since 6 months, but it gets better when I do walking, excercise , regularly. Please tell me what should be done for my ESR ?

First of all, ESR is an obsolete investigation which has gone out of practice since it has no clinical significance. It can be raised in any chronic infection and in any cancerous state (like yours). However, It does not need any attention whether or no it fall to normal or not. Just concentrate on getting your breast cancer treated and the ESR will settle on its own.
