Hi am a type 1 diabetic and have been taking losartan 50mg for 6 weeks having pre viously been on candersartan 8mg daily. This was stopped as side-effects. Had bloods taken and now creatine level 91 after been normal. Can losartan cause increased levels. GP has discontinued them and will levels return to normal

Thank you for sharing your concern .Losartan belong to group of drugs called angiotensin receptor blocker which is protective to kidneys especially in diabetics.Your creatinine level is normal and even in people with kidney dysfunction it is preferred drug
