Can Medical Marijuana Be Taken With The Prescription From A Qualified Doctor?
Do you know if an employer can deny the treatment of medical marijuana if the script is processed through a legal and qualified medical marijuana doctor? I have spondolaraphy, specifically reiters syndrome. I also have a lumber spinal fusion at the bottom two levels, the disc above is also showing issues, as well as a degenerative discs in my thorasic.
Whether a doctor prescribes marijuana for a medical condition is a legal situation that is different globally and in each state in the United States. Here in the U.S.there is a list of prescribed conditions for which medical marijuana can be prescribed in certain states but not in all. So medical marijuana, first of all, needs to be legal to be prescribed by a doctor in a state that accepts the prescription. The federal government still does not recognize the legality of medical marijuana and that makes it difficult for many doctors to write prescriptions for it at the state level because they work for hopitals that receive federal monies so they do not allow their physicians to prescribe legal medical marijuana. It all comes down to the law where you live.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kathy Shattler, Dietitian & Nutritionist
