Can Medication Slow Down The Progression Of Arthritis?
I was recently advised by a physiotherapist that the pain in my feet was probably arthritis. Can medication slow down the progression of arthritis or will it just reduce pain and inflammation. (I have nodules on my fingers and pain in other joints as well)? I am female / 53
Hello, I can understand your concern very well and i will do my best to guide you properly.
I would like to tell you that most of the medications of arthritis will reduce the pain and inflammation of joints, so medications will not slow down the progress the disease.
Once arthritis has started to affect your joint, then you will have to take few precautions to halt the progression of arthritis. These precautions are like do regular physiotherapy, do regular walking, take a healthy diet, take supplements of calcium and vitamin D, avoid climbing up the steps, avoid bending down your knee or other joints, use western toilet, etc.
Hope this answers your question and let me know directly if you have any further relevant queries, i will be happy to guide you in right direction.
