Can Medication Taken After Mirena Insertion Cause Baby To Cry After Breastfeeding?
Yesterday I had a mirina inserted. The day before my doctor gave me two small white pills to take. He said it stays in my system for 6hrs so pumped and throw breast milk away for 6 hours and do not breast feed. Today after nursing my baby she has cried all day. Could this be from the medication and what will it do to her?
- As per you're description, I believe the pills were antibiotics. They are commonly given post insertion of an IUD. You were correctly advised to not breast feed for the time frame - It is unlikely that your baby is crying due to any remaining medicine - Did your baby feed normally? --> in terms of duration and frequency?
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
