Hi, Thanks for the query. According to your history the possibility of pregnancy is there. But sometimes beta hcg injections can influence the pregnancy test result. So, as you have completed 5 weeks according to your last menstrual period, better to go for ultrasound. Ultrasound helps in: -Confirmation of pregnancy -Estimation of gestational age -To rule out ectopic pregnancy -And in case of absence of pregnancy, it can find out the cause for delay in periods. So, after ultrasound you can come to one conclusion regarding pregnancy. Start taking folic acid supplementation from now onwards. Take care.
Hi, In the current scenario, you should get serum beta-hCG levels assessed coupled with a trans-vaginal sonogram to clarify the situation. Urine pregnancy tests are not very sensitive and as such can read only 3-7 days after a missed period and with a fresh early morning sample. If pregnancy is excluded, you should suspect hormonal imbalance and the cause identified. Please see a gynecologist for a complete evaluation and further management. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
