Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! If I am pregnant, I am only 3.5 weeks since LMP. Plus 7-8dpo. I had a blood test and the results were 0-3 hcg which I took as a negative (didnt speak to anyone as the results are posted online via my doc). For the past two days I took the diet pill SlimQuick...and read it is bad during pregnancy. I took a cheap test this morning and there is a faint line...how worried should I be. Blood test is more accurate, correct? If I was negative wouldnt the levels just be at 0? Thank you so much!
Many weight loss supplements, including SlimQuick, contain various herbal extracts, stimulants, and other ingredients that have not been thoroughly studied for their safety during pregnancy. There may be potential risks and side effects associated with these supplements that could negatively impact the pregnancy or the developing baby.so you should discontinue it and wait for confirmation of pregnancy on blood test.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Fahum Akhter, General & Family Physician
