Can Mucosal Thickening Shown On CT Scan Be The Cause Of Severe Headaches?
I have been battling with severe headaches, I went for a limited CT scan and this is what is said: 1.Relatively marked mucosal thickening around the osteomeatal unit on the left maxillary sinus 2.The right maxillary antrum demonstrates mucosal thickening at its base. 3.Mucosal prominence of the inferior turbinates. 4.Adenoidal and tonsillar prominence is seen especially on the right.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having headache. The CT scan findings in the form of mucosal thickening of the maxillary sinuses indicate chronic sinusitis and this is the cause for chronic headache.
Hence this requires treatment for sinusitis.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
