Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had a ski injury today in which I fell coming off the lift...sorry, that's as good as it gets...I landed on my left hip and shoulder. Initially they both hurt. Th shoulder pain gave way to achiness after a short time but I was unable to move my leg without sharp pain. X-rays revealed no fracture so we attempted a trial of ambulation. The pain was still severe and did not correlate to the injury. A ct was done which again, shows no fracture. My question is this...can muscle pain cause such severe pain. I am barely able to bear wt on the hip. But what's confusing me is if I extend my leg out, the pain is not too bad, but put in front of me as a normal walking movement causes knife like pain in my hip...?..

Can Muscle Pain Cause Severe Pain?
Hi, I have read your query. Yes soft tissue injury can cause severe pain. You should take rest for at least 3-4 days and try to avoid sitting on hard surface. After about a week soft would be healed. You can discuss with you doctor for taking aceclofenac + serratiopeptidase combination. I hope you got your answer. Thanks. Dr.Singh.
