Can Ovarian Cyst 6 Months Ago Causes Bleeding During Pregnancy?

I am 41 years old with 2 healthy pregnancies in the past. Now I am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant . I have started bleeding orange/ bright red. It is on the tissue when I clean up. I have no pain. Could it be normal? I also have ovarian cyst removed 6 months ago ( one incision endoscopic method ) could bleeding related to my past surgery? Thank you!

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Yes it could, but it is highly unlikely especially 6 months into pregnancy. The more likely cause would be a hormonal fluctuation, and I would this recommend a visit to your doctors office to make sure all is well. At the most, progesterone pills might be prescribed. In the meantime, make sure you take as bed rest as possible.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
