Can Past Meth Use Lower Sperm Count? What Are Chances Of Pregnancy With 1 Ovary?
Hi my name is Ashley .. my husband is a recovering meth addict for 3 yrs now. The time we have been together. Last year I lost a pregnancy it was eptopic. The doctor saved my life but I am minus a right ovary . I have read about my chances of pregnancy with one. And found out alot of vital info. We got pregnant when I had 2 now that i have 1 my husband says our chances are even lower. Hes clean has been for yrs but how much does meth use lower a mans sperm count if he isnt using anymore and are our chances with my only ovary and his hx really going to affect our chances now. Help so many questions im desperate for answers. Or do I give up??

Removal of one ovary does not considerably affect the chances of conception as during every cycle, an egg is released from alternate ovary. In the absence of one ovary, same ovary releases egg every month.

Meth use affects sexual drive and sexual performance.
No studies have shown it to have an objective negative effect on the sperm count in humans.
If he is quite clean and has absolutely stopped using it, then it is no issue right now.
To confirm, you can always get a semen analysis done.
Regarding one ovary, if the other ovary is functioning well, then your chances of conception are pretty good.
Ability to conceive is dependent on the ovarian reserve, that is , the ability of your ovaries to produce mature eggs.
This can be assessed by various blood tests like Day2 FSH, AMH and by AFC on ultrasound.
Please consult an Infertility specialist and have a detailed assessment, and dont waste time.
Ectopic pregnancy can also lead to tubal damage, which should also be assessed.
