Can Piercing Of Navel Cause Weight Loss?

I got my navel pierced about two and a half months ago. It was healing fine, I was cleaning it everyday with salt water and anti bacterial scentless soap. Until about a week ago it turned really dark red around the top hole, and now there is meat from inside the hole coming out. But nothing hurts, not even when I pull on the meat. Also, the top hole is bigger in diameter, but not the bottom. I have recently lost about 30 pounds from the time I got the piercing. Could that be a factor? Anyways, what do you think may be the problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
most probably you are suffering from pyogenic granuloma which is very common in body piercing and with a typical clinical feature of yours. so before starting a course of antibiotic and other related therapy its better to confirm with your dermatologist.
