Can Precancerous Cells Develop Into Cancer After Months Of Pap Test?
I have abnormal cells on my pap, my gyno did a coposcopy and biospsy which should moderate cell growth. she told me to come back in three months for another coposcopy - no other symptoms just and abnormal pap. what are the chances that the precancerous cells will develp into cancer in three months, this is my concern
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have Pap smear test and suggest abnormal cells. Colposcopy and biopsy result are also showing that. you may have Low grade squamous intra epithelial lesion (LSIL) or High grade squamous intra epithelial lesion (HSIL). Chances of developing malignancy depends on whether it is LSIL or HSIL and Your HPV virus test. But there is definite chance of developing cancer in this. SO you should go for regular follow up test. Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
