Can Regular Tylenol Use Cause Painful Bruising On Limbs And Back?
Hi Doctor, I have been taking Tylenol 3 s for over 2 years now very regularly. I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Within the last 2 months I have noticed small little areas that started on my legs that now cover both my entire legs, my entire back and now my arms. They are each about the size of a quarter. They start like little white pin prick grain like things and then they turn bright red or purple and they hurt deep into the bone. They feel like sandpaper to the touch. I went to my doctor and she said it was probably an allergic reaction to something and perscribed an antihistomine and cortisone cream but that has not helped and they are spreading every day. Could it be from the Tylenol 3 s. Thank you, Bonnie
Hello Dear. Tylenol contains paracetamol and generally may not cause such allergic reactions of skin. These rashes may be due to allergy to some other things like egg, pollen, dress material, animal hair etc. You need to find out yourself what is it that is causing you allergy. Use those cortisone cream and anti histaminic tablets for atleast 2 weeks. It should help.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
