Can Root Canal Treatment Be Undertaken When Lymph Nodes Are Swollen?

I have a horrible cavity in my tooth (molar) that has created a large hole where the nerve is KILLING me. I am on a strong antibiotic, but I still have swollen nodes. Ive been on the antibiotic for 10 days. I ran outta my pain meds today and am SOARING in pain still. He prescribed me an antiinflammatory to take instead of the vicodin because he said thats addictive. It was the only thing that helped TOUCH the pain. My question is, is that do you suggest anything to help the pain and also, can I have a root canal when my lymph nodes are still swollen? I am on disability and have NO INSURANCE. I am starting to think the doc Ive been seeing isnt so great......... On Clyndamicin?? 900mg a day

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If the infection in the cavity is substantial, in my clinic, I recommend priority intervention of tooth extraction rather than waiting for lymph node resolution and getting the primary infection spread further deteriorating the clinical condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
