Can Second Bypass Cause No Chest Pain With Improvement In Echo Level?
Hello this is a suprise! Had a follow up echo this morning. My second one after having a double bypass graf back in July of this year due to having a heart attack. I ve been feeling pretty good considering. Working out four times a week by doing a brisk 45-60 minute walk, followed by a five minute light weight (5lb barbabell) to music routine. Anyway, my fist echo had my EF around 15-20% and today about the same. The discouraging part is I feel considerably better/stronger and was really bummed out when my EF hadn t improved. It s been about four and a half months since my CABG (July 8, 2011 to be exact) and I am a pretty discipline post op patient..but expected a lot more improvement in my EF numbers I guess....having no chest pain, shortness of breath, sleeping alright etc.
Good evening sir. You do sound like a man with a young heart again. That is good amount of exercise which you are doing. I am sure your ejection fraction will be better. What you need to understand is that 2D Echo is manually operated and there are high chances of user faults. The person doing it can give false readings at times. YOu can get it re checked at another center to cross match with the first ones.Hope the information was useful
