Can Single Polyp Found In Ultrasound Fall Off By Itself?
So I just got back from an ultrasound with my OB/GYN and was told I had a single polyp and it would most likely fall off by itself but would need to come back in three months to check. I ve been looking online and it has said that they almost never fall off by themselves. I am a 22 year old female that was told almost 2 years ago that I had hpv and was told it had gone away. I wanted to know if maybe these two things could be related? Could this polyp cause infertility because I am so young? And just by an ultrasound how could it be known that it was not cancerous?
You have not mentioned the location of the polyp and its size. Falling off of a polyp is not common and it must be followed up regularly by scan. HPV is human papilloma virus and it causes genital warts. This does not disappear completely and can recur again. I suggest you consult your doctor and discuss in detail. Polys in the uterus can cause infertility.
