i have smoked on and off for 10 years about a pack every other day. I also bite the inside of my cheeks, has this increased my chances for mouth cancer? Is there anything i can do help reverse the effects of all this damage. I am 36 years old exercise at least 4 times a week and it is heavy cardio. I am a mother of two. I am 5 feet 4 inches and weigh 150.
yes smoking increases the risk of oral cancer. Most oral cancers are indeed linked to it and creates a huge increase in risk http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-info/cancerstats/types/oral/riskfactors/oral-cancer-risk-factors
Read your query , as you have trauma due to cheek biting dont be worried so much first I will suggest you to consult oral surgeon for examination of cheek and quit your habit of smoking. If needed go for investigations like biopsy of region of cheek , inmeantime you can apply ointment like Tess or Kenacort on cheek .
Hope this will help you .
