Can Sore Throat Be Controlled If ASO Titre Is Reduced?
Hi, My son had complain of leg pain. The ortho doctor suggested for a blood test and the result was ASO positive(375). From the next day he started having Pentids 400.After 3 months it reached 865 . This was tested when he had severe throat pain. After one month it reduced to 765. My question is if sore throat is controlled can aso titre be reduced?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and you have increased levels of ASO. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. For pain and swelling of leg you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics penicillin or amoxicillin or anti viral drug depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants and anti inflammatory. Keep drinking plenty of water
Hope your concern has been resolved.
