Can Spotting After Having Unprotected Sex During Fertile Week Mean That I Am Pregnant?
Hi. Um I had unprotected sex during my fertile week on.the 16th of this month, 5 days later on the 21st I had spotting in my underwear n when I.wiped my self I was bleeding fresh blood, but it stopped the next day and went away, what does that mean ?
Hi, Ovulation bleeding usually is seen as slight spotting of fresh blood during the ovulation period. Implantation bleeding is usually seen about 10 days after fertilization as a fresh blood spotting sometimes resembling a light period. The way you have the bleeding at this stage of the cycle is suggestive of a possible hormonal imbalance and could be a breakthrough pre-menstrually. Yet, since you have every chance of conceiving, you should undergo an assay of serum beta-hCG titres about 2-3 days prior to your expected period or 10 days after your ovulation date to enable further management. Hope this helps.
