Can Strongly Odored, Light Vaginal Bleeding Be Caused Due To HPV?
I had an ablation done about 7 years ago and my periods stopped. The past 3 months I bleed lightly almost every day. It has a strong odor. I ve had a pap done recently and std testing. All negative except I m showing positive for the HPV at 40 years old. What s going on? What am I missing here?Thank you, Michele
Hi, I think you should go for an ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, you may need an endometrial biopsy to rule out endometrial carcinoma. Talk to your doctor regarding this. HPV can be positive at 40 years of age. Don't worry about it. Just follow up regularly with paps smear atleast yearly. HPV infection can resolve on its own. Hope it helps.
