Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi my name is Andrew. I am prescribed suboxone and take 2 strips daily for4 months now. I have to take oral swabs for probation and 2 tests since January came up positive for opiates and I haven t ate any opiates since before Christmas. I take my probation seriously and was never addicted to perks but take subs for pain. I did take a sub right before I was giving the test like 10 min before. would this cause the test to be inaccurate.
Suboxone contains buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opioid and can turn the test positive for opiates. I would recommend you to disclose the information along with prescription. I hope the above information helps. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
