Can Symptoms Appear In A Child After Accidental Ingestion Of Medicine?
My 3 year old son got ahold of my thyroid medicine. There was only 6 left. He took 5. He weighs about 38 lbs. Synthroid 50mcg. I called poison control and they told me to just keep an eye on him and watch for any significant change. It s been about 3 1/2 hours and have seen no change in him. My question is If he hasn t had any symptoms as of now, will they show up later?

There will be no symptoms. The thyroid drugs take days to produce any effect. It may cause some stomach pain only.
