Can Taking Macgest Help Increase The Cervix Length?
Hi .I m week 15th weeks pregnant. Last week I had a ultra sound scan and doctor informed that baby is perfectly alright but my cervix length is 2.9 cm (which should 3.2 cm above) and suggested me to use macgest 200 tablets for month per tablet a day. Doctor suggested not to have sex for a month for the increase of cervix length. Do macgest 200 tablet increases the cervix length? What should be the avg length of cervix? How can increase my cervix length and maintain the average length? Problems having the 2.9 cm cervix length? Please answer my questions and THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Having a shorter cervix may be a reason for preterm birth. Contractions make the cervix to shorten that's why you should take progesterone like hormones such Macgest to support pregnancy and possibly stop contractions which shorten the cervix. Your cervix length may be 3.5 to 3 so you have it slightly below normal. There is no much risk but you have to take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
