Can Taking Marvelon Pill Cause Irregularity In Periods?

im on marvelon, in december i stopped taking the last couple days of my pill due to illness, i got a period pretty much straight away, but stopped taking the pill all together, i still havent had a period since, is this down to having an early period because of the pill and my hormones etc?
