You have had abnormal spotting instead of a proper period.
WIth such irregular bleeding, the possibility of a
pregnancy should always be kept in mind.
A
follicular cyst generally cannot lead to such spotting.
However, after you have undergone a
blood test and a pelvic
ultrasound scan, pregnancy is ruled out for sure.
There could be other reasons.
stress, anxiety, recent weight gain, ingestion of
hormonal medications, travelling, late nights, erratic eating habits - all these could be reasons.
Apart from the scan, please have a gynecological evaluation also.
A polyp or erosion on the cervix can lead to spotting.
If the examination is also clear, do not worry.
Occasional spotting might sometimes occur once in a while during your cycles.
Just maintain meticulous menstrual charting.
