I am 30 year old female, 5 3 , 115 pounds. As a teenager, I believe at 15 years of age, I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse. The only course of action I had was to be evaluated every other year and to take antibiotics with dental work. When I was pregnant with my first child, at 22 years of age, I had an echocardiogram that showed nothing concerning and that I had outgrown the mitral valve prolapse. I had given very little thought to it in the past 8 years. I was just attempting to find information regarding tingling in my arms at night during menstruation and discovered that again listed as a possible symptom for mitral valve prolapse, in addition to infrequent palpitations and irritable bowels ( WWW.WWWW.WW . I realize I should contact my own doctor if I have concerns, before doing so, I was interested in knowing if it is possible to again have mitral valve prolapse develop if it appears I had outgrown it in the past.
