Can Tonsillectomy Causes Pain In The Uvula And Metallic Taste?
I had a tonsillectomy 7 weeks ago and the past week my uvula has really been bothering me. IT has been swollen (it was fine before this). Today i am coughing and seneezing and get a metallic taste in my mouth. i feel like i cant breath because my uvula is swollen (and mayebt he back of my toungue).
Hello. Thanks for your question. Swelling of uvula after tonsillectomy is seen usually during first post-operative week and subsides after that. So it will not occur seven weeks after the surgery . Also metallic taste will not be there due to uvular swelling ( unless you are using medicine like Metronidazole tablets ). I suggest you to see an ENT physician for clinical examination and further management. Regards.
