If your dental infection is long standing, and you don't take care of it, it may show generalized symptoms like fever, fatigue, head-ache etc. But before this happen, you suffer from local complications like extreme jaw pain, difficulty in opening mouth, swelling of cheeks/neck, and sometimes there can be difficulty in breathing and swallowing also. If you suffer from any of the above symptoms than your pain in hand and legs can be due to your dental infection.
Extraction is not the only treatment of infected wisdom teeth. If your wisdom teeth are impacted + infected than extraction is the only treatment option. But if they are not impacted, and can be saved, go for root canal treatment. Ask your dentist to interpret OPG to you, and than you decide.

Hi sylvia,

There is no connection between the wisdom tooth and numbness in hand or leg.

Feel free to get it extracted.
Take proper medications and follow the guidelines and precautions told by your dentist after the extraction.

Thanks,

Dr. Vishal Jain.

hello sylvia,

thers no need for panic. it is just a small surgical procedure . the difficulty is for the dentist to remove the pain. you have to only keep your mouth wide open. you shoud expect little bit of swelling for couple of days and difficulty in opening the mouth for few days. have the prescribed couse of antibiotics and pain killers . dont have hot food for one day ( after extraction) have saline gargles from day 2.

its better to get rid of the tooth than to suffer from pain later. all the best for the weekend. have a good breakfast and proceed to ur dentist..
