Can Travelling To High Altitude Place Cause Afib Attack?
planning a trip to machupichu Peru, altitude 10,000 plus feet, I don t suffer from atrial fribilation but I have had two episodes of it in my life. Iam 59 years old, weigh 155 pounds, and run 3 miles 3/4 times a week in less than 29 minutes. I also suffer from mild/moderate aortic insufficiency, but totally asyntomatic. Can this trip cause another afib event because of the altitude.? I have normal blood pressure and taking no medication,
Hello from my own opinion there is a likelihood that you might develop the atrial fibrillation episode so my suggestion to you is that reduce your high altitude exercise and take some time off in other to regulate your heart rate
