Can Treatment For Fibromyalgia And Heart Disease Be Taken Together?

52 yr old female---I have arthritis(Low back, knees mainly) and fibromyalgia (which I was told by RA doc that it is caused by my arthritis) I take 50 mg twice per day of Tramadol, (10 mg Ritalin (which was started 6 months ago by RA doc due to brain fog and fatigue) and sometimes I need ambien at night. I have been told due to breathing tests that I have COPD which presently I only use a rescue inhaler a few times per week, recently my doctor to me she wants me to go have some more extensive breathing tests done again and about a yr and a half ago they found a heart murmur...which lead to more testing and they found Aortic Stenosis which they say I was born with and I have never had heart problems before. I am active with walking and yoga. I am concerned about these meds being taken together, please advise. Thank You

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience , fibromyalgia medication can be consumed with cardiac drugs with due precautions. Basic things to be taken care in terms of side effects such as Tramadol hydrochloride is known to produce constipation on long run which may be detrimental for a heart patient.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
