Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
a patient is regularly having a morphine S/C every 4 hours. when i administered a dose for this patient there is some more morphin left in the ampule, so can i store the remaining morphine in a syringe to be given to the same patient for the next dose, to prevent wastage of drugs
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It is not advisible to use the remainder drug after 4 hours, because it may have the infection, from out side, or may undergo degradation, due to exposure to the atmosphere. If he takes it is O.K. but why you are supporting him. I advise you to avoid such things, which may increase his dependence. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to make him comfortable. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
