Can Vitamin Supplements Be Sufficient To Cure Headaches, Loss Of Appetite, Chills And Sweating During Cold?

Its day 5 of a cold and I can't take a full deep inhalation without coughing. It's hard to catch my breath also after even walking up stairs. I'm resting, taking tons of vitamins and liquids. Should I be concerned about the breathing? The rest of the days have been body aches, eyeballs hurt, headache, no appetite, chills and sweats. day one was 14 hours of coughing. Now I am spitting up solid brownish mucus. Thank you.

Hi,
Your symptoms suggest you are suffering from more than a cold. You probably have a chest infection. You may benefit from a course of antibiotics.
I suggest you see your doctor for this. Keep drinking plenty of water. Hot water with lemon and honey may help soothe your cough. Paracetamol with will reduce a fever and chills. Vitamins are unlikely to make any difference. Rest if possible.
I hope you make a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
