Can You Advise The Best Course Of Action For The Lump On The Thigh Which Is Sore With Black Dot In It?

Hi, Ive had a small lump on the side of my thigh for a few years, but over the last few days, it has started getting a bit sore. It is now red around the "wart" with a black dot in the middle. It is less sore today but the redness was not there before. It is reasonably hard, so that I don't think it can be popped. Can you advise on the best course of action? Thanks.

Hello,

This seems to me like an infected cyst. Redness is a sign of inflammation.
In this condition I would advice my patient to gave hot fomentation to the area. Analgesic for pain and a course of antibiotic. Consult your doctor for incision and drainage if there is puss formation.
