Caught Enterovirus. Lungs Not Functioning Properly To Take Oxygen. Heart Beat Varies And Had Fever
hello, the son of my friend caught enterovirus week ago,and he is at the intesive care for one week now .they put him unconscious because the lungs are not functioning properly to take the oxygen.will this cause a high fever for 1 week?the heart beat isvaries between 100-130 is this very dangerous.in your opinion, will he be able to recover and will the lungs recover?
The infection would cause the high fever and this would contribute to the increase in heart rate.
He may also be on medication that may contribute to the increase in heart rate. If the heart rate is affecting his heart function then the doctors would administer medication to decrease it.
The extent of recovery of his lung function would depend on the nature of damage to his lungs. His doctors would be in the best position to give an idea of his prognosis and any long term issues.
I hope this helps and wish him all the best
