Cause And Treatment For Burning Sensation In My Thumb And Wrist?

I have a distal radial fracture that is not displaced. So far the doctor has only left me in a splint. It is now been eight days.Is there a chance he will still cost me? At this time I have a lot of burning sensation in my thumb and wrist. I am still working which requires me to type a lot. I m trying to do most typing with one hand or it dictate but it is impossible to all my work that way.

Hi
Thanks for writing
May be the nerve(median) is getting compressed at wrist because of swelling secondary to fracture and may be you are not keeping the limb elevated as advice by your doctor.
As far as treatment -rest, limb elevation, finger movement (exercise) will help.
-Drugs like Ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling. Just talk to your doctor.
Take care
