Cause For Pain In Legs, Fever And Feeling Malaise In Child?

My 7 year old son woke up at 530am throwing up he threw up till mid morning then it changed over to the runs. All the time he was not running a fever at one point it was just 99 he complained of a minor headache. He has a general feeling of malaise. This evening he told me his upper legs hurt. What could that be from in all the years of getting sick with stomach viruses he has never complained of leg pain. The runs stopped early this evening. He has since eaten a piece of toast a yogurt and a banana. What could the leg pain be from and should I be worried about something much more serious?

Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
Leg cramps can occur because of exhaustion or electrolyte loss ( sodium and potassium )
you need to rehydrate him with electrolyte solutions like pedialyte
Ensure he gets good bed rest too and keep the legs raised in bed with a pillow
WIshing your kid great health
