Changed From Beta Blocker To Calcium Channel Blocker. Developed Tachycardia, BP Normal, Pulse High. Normal Rebound Effect?

My husband was changed from a beta blocker to a calcium channel blocker. He was advised to taper the medication over a 2 week period. He has developed tachycardia, when his pulse was usually 60 or sometimes lower.
His BP has dropped to norm, but feels like something is wrong.
He called his cardiologist who said to wait a few days and call back if still not feeling well. My husband is worried that something is abnormal. He never had pulses that high. It can range from 88 - 117. Seems like it elevates after eating or physical exercise.
What do you think, is this normal rebound effect or something?

Hi!

I read carefully you concern and i would say don't wary because is a normal effect and will be normalized within 2 weeks.

If the tachycardia increase it's rate you should switch again to a beta blocker.

I hope i respond your answer.
