Chest Pain, Neck Pain, Fever, Takes Shallow Breaths, Hurts To Eat. Reasons ?
My 13 year old son was eating pizza yesterday and said it felt like it went down the wrong pipe. He had chest pain and neck pain when it happened. Today, he has a low-grade fever (99), says his throat hurts, his neck hurts, it hurts to eat and he can only take shallow breaths because it hurts to take a deep breath. Thanks. AAAA at YYYY@YYYY

in this case there is apossibility of aspiration of the food into the airway, or lungs causing intense inflammation
or some food getting stuck in the deeper airway.
a food like foreign body in the airways can give no shadow on an Xray and cause inflammation as in your case. it can get serious if untreated. would advise you to see your physician and get evaluated for these possibilities.
a Xray chest and an endoscopy may be needed.
let him be fasting till you reach your doc/ ER room.
do not play around with the problem at home.
