Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband has been complaining of chest pains it started off as a tight pain around 20 hours ago he thought it was indigestion . Today his breathing was different and tonight he is in pain describing it as pins and needles. He is getting over a cold he had for a couple of days and gutar . He is currently being treated for depression .
I went through your problem description. You husband is under treatment for depression. I presume that such chest pain is not the first one for your husband, this has hapened before, but may not be with the sme intensity.
Depression and anxiety patients do suffer from such illusions. This can rather be termed as somatoform disorder. Self imagining illness or hypochondriasis may also be the case. Because they are under anxiety, they lment about their pain, therefore the pain becomes more prominent.
He needs psychotherapy alongwith medication. Meditation and yoga should also help. Streamlining the metabolism, thinking pattern and life style change - these are what your husband needs.
Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarification. Good luck.
